I heart GTB. He’s been far more diligent than I at updating our wedding website. He’s actually a really good writer and I appreciate his efforts at keeping that thing timely.
However…
Today, he added a new page for Thank Yous. This particular sentiment caught my eye:
“We would like to give special thanks to [Girl’s] parents for being so incredibly generous and patient throughout this entire process. It’s been a busy year and we can’t wait to see all your efforts come to fruition on our wedding night.”
I sent him an email that said: “I think you might want to rethink this. ‘Wedding night’ has some hanky panky connotations. Sorta sounds like their efforts are going to culminate in us doin’ it.”
A minute later, my phone rang. We have caller ID at work, so I could see it was GTB. When I picked up, all I heard was giggling. He agreed with my assesment, admitted that he “just sorta threw it up there,” and promptly changed “our wedding night” to “June 9.”
My hope now is that my Aunt MaryAnn didn’t get a chance to read it before we changed it.
