Sob, weep, sob, weep…sob
I just made the mistake of watching this video at work.
My mom told me about it last week, so I sorta knew what I was in for. But, man, I’m blubbering like a baby here, hoping no one stumbles into my office.
As my mama said, every American should see this at least once. Quiet sacrifice, indeed.

I got back from Iraq in 2003. I wasn’t gone as long as most – but it was the longest I had been away from my family up till that point. We did the same thing with my son – I walked into his daycare and neither of us recognized each other at first. (He was one of like two dozen little blonde haired boys about the same age). Then I called out his name and he knocked four little friends over to get to me.
I think it’s easy when we’re talking about the emotional effects of teh war to focus on those of us who were involved – but there is a terrible strain on teh families as well.

Oh wait. Yes, I have. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have it in me right now to type it all out again. Besides, it was just ramblings anyway. You didn’t want to hear me go on and on about this, right?
