On this day, August 26, in 1920, the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote. Any time I want to chuck it all, have babies, and bake cookies for the rest of my life, I think of the women (and men) who sacrificed so much and worked so hard to give me that choice.

Because as much as I love cookies, the fact that I can choose to bake them ad infinitum or sit here at my desk and write copy for other people makes me teary with gratitude. And the idea that I can work here AND have babies humbles me to no end.
