Snack Lies
One of my favorite workday-afternoon snacks is yogurt and trail mix. (What can I say? I live in Oregon.) My favorite used to be the combination of Trader Joe’s “Confetti” trail mix and their nonfat strawberry fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt. But they quit making Confetti and I was forced to develop warmish feelings for the “Sweet and Savory” mix. It’s fine, I guess.
Anyway, a week or so ago, I was at Safeway and found something that resembled the old Confetti mix, so I grabbed it. I was dumping a handful of it into my Tillamook strawberry yogurt (also good) a few minutes ago and noticed that it claims this on the label:
“All Natural Pacific Crest Mix: Thought to be one of Lewis & Clark’s favorite. Instant energy for hiking, biking, and exploring.”
Mmm hmm, sure. Can’t you just see Meriwether chomping down on white chocolate chips and freeze-dried pineapples?
