Putting the fat in Fat Tuesday
Today is Fat Tuesday and I’d usually be gorging myself on whatever it is I’ve decided to give up for the next forty days. But this year, as I contemplated what I’d like to sacrifice, I remembered that I’ve already sworn off some of my favorite things for the next 30+ weeks.
So since I’ve given up coffee, alcohol, sushi, soft cheese, and turkey sandwiches (to say nothing of my newly svelte body) until well past September, I’m letting myself off the hook this Lent.
Seems fair, right?
